1250 Oceanside LLC is very pleased to announce that the first phases of the Hokulia Shoreline Park are under construction, including passive hiking trails, rest stops, picnic benches and scenic overlooks for the enjoyment of Hokulia Members and the general public. This exciting progress begins to fulfill long-awaited plans to preserve and protect the entire rugged and magnificent Kona coastline within Hokulia. Members and visitors are allowed daily access from dawn to dusk. Implementation of the overall Shoreline Park will occur in several phases, over several years – proceeding from north to south.
This exciting progress follows months of effort by 1250 Oceanside to remove all non-native vegetation from the Shoreline area, to preserve only culturally significant and native plant species and to protect significant archaeological and culturally-significant sites — while revealing and maintaining expansive and dramatic ocean views.
Maintenance of the Shoreline Park and protection of the significant cultural preservation sites is provided by the member-facilitated Hokulia Parks and Cultural Sites Association (PCSA).
